My first blog as an Award Winning Business Owner! This is my first blog as an award winning business owner! Wow, still super excited. Word to the wise though, don't wing it when it comes to accepting an award! Winging it works if you think you are going to win and you have mentally prepared yourself. When you have no idea that you are going to win and don't think you stand a chance, then winging it fails! This blog is what I wanted to say 🙄 My husband, Dr Peter Spittaler and I started this business because I saw a gap in the market. Many years ago I had some medical issues that led me to have a multitude of operations over a 5 year period. During that time my surgeon(s) were amazing and supportive and explained things very well though the one thing lacking was overall wholistic care. They are surgeons after all, they love to operate. Once you leave the operating theatre, it's a different story. I love the work Peter does, he is a really great surgeon (no bias here). I wanted to add on to that greatness and to create a space where our clients can come and be totally cared for. Many of Peter's patients have ongoing issues with chronic pain. Having long term health conditions can led to so many other issues, mentally and physically. Neurosurgeons don't just operate on the brain, they also look after necks, spines, carpel tunnel - all sorts of different issues. How we StartedPeter and I decided to integrate services and get together a team of allied health professionals. We had a vision to bring the best team we could to our clients and in November 2017 Hunter Allied Care was born. Kristy Hord (our physio) came with fantastic credentials and is the most caring person I have ever met. She now has had so much experience in the musculoskeletal field. She attends surgery with Peter on a regular basis. Monique Aganovic has also been with us from the start, she has moved on to become our Marketing Manager and she was also a finalist in the Hunter Business Awards as the Kristen Keegan Young Business Executive. Jody Kerr Psychologist and Emily Ross Dietitian are now part of the team. Backed up by Meg Hassan, our amazing receptionist greeting everyone with her happy face. Our clinicians work hand in hand with Dr Spittaler and help people overcome, recover or in some cases learn to live with whatever they are going through physically and mentally. Hunter Allied Care is a client focused business, the clients are at the centre of everything we do. I feel grateful to come to work everyday and hang out with this amazing team. I am appreciative that we have been recognised as a business that has a place at the winners table. Of course all the HAC team are winners in my eyes. Now it's official, we are an Award Winning Business!
