This January, Dr Peter Spittaler and Kristy Hord had the opportunity to travel to Niseko to attend the Society of Neuromuscular Sciences Inc. 2018 conference. The conference was home to a bevy of medical experts and covered a variety of topics relevant to both neuroscience and physiotherapy. The team enjoyed the collaborative and educational talks at the event, whilst also getting to enjoy the beautiful and picturesque setting that was Niseko in the winter time.
The team were vicious on the slopes, however is was no debate that in the end the physiotherapist beat the neurosurgeon with flying colours. The conference was also a good chance for the Hunter Allied Care team to meet other medical practitioners from far and wide. These meetings allowed for deep discussions into the importance of holistic health care and the science behind both neurology and physiotherapy. The conference was a hit with the team and they are keen to revisit next year, with our two new practitioners, in order to really get an idea of the holistic health vision and to share it with other practitioners from Australia and beyond.
