Jay Wildrick

Owner & Senior Physiotherapist

About Jay
  • Whilst studying Physiotherapy, Jay worked as a Remedial Massage therapist alongside some great Physiotherapists and sporting teams, including the Newcastle Knights.
  • After graduating from the University of Newcastle, Jay spent 5 years developing his skills in biomechanics and sport specific Physiotherapy, within in the CrossFit, Yoga and Mvmt communities. 
Jay's difference 
  • Jay has interest in all forms of weightlifting, including Olympic lifting, Powerlifting, CrossFit and Bodybuilding.
  • Jay's other area of focus is Chronic pain - Over his years he has found many patients who are debilitated by pain, unable to do the things they love, yet being given conflicting advice. With all the confusion, these people seem to slip through the cracks of the healthcare system. 
  • This has lead Jay on a mission to better understand people and pain. A mission that has lead him to build Hunter Allied Care, a practice to help people become themselves again.

Bart Henricks

Clinical Psychologist

About Bart 
  • Bart is a clinical psychologist with 8 years of experience.  He holds two Honours degrees in Psychology (a BA and a BSc) and a Master of Clinical Psychology degree.  
  • Bart’s special interests include trauma and chronic pain, though he works with clients with a wide range of presenting conditions including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, PTSD, and BPD.  
Bart’s difference 
  • Bart has a versatile skill set, he utilises Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Schema Therapy, and EMDR as his preferred treatment modalities, along with CBT and DBT skills training.
  • Bart is passionate about using this skill set to enable people to better understand themselves, their current situation, and find their pathway to become themselves again.

Laura Otton

Dietitian 

About Laura 
  • Laura completed her Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of Newcastle, graduating with First Class Honours.
  • Laura has experience working in many areas of dietetics, including eating disorders, oncology, diabetes, gastrointestinal conditions, fussy eating, PCOS, neurological conditions, healthy eating and weight management.
 
Laura's difference 
  • Laura is passionate about helping people improve their quality of life through nutrition.
  • She see’s restrictive dieting and condemning certain foods as an ill-informed side of her industry, and seeks to reorient people’s views by creating healthy, positive relationships with food. 
  • Laura is particularly interested in the relationship between mental health and nutrition, she loves to spend time to get to know her patients, what their lives look like, what matters to them, and support them to achieve their goals and become themselves again.

Adam Rippon

​Remedial Massage Therapist
​& Yoga Teacher 

About Adam
  • Adam is a Remedial Massage Therapist with over 10 years’ experience. He has worked with various local Physiotherapists, top level NRL and A-League sporting teams.
  • Adam has an unrivalled level of training. He is a qualified Yoga Teacher, for which he has trained in both India and Australia. He is also certified in Dry Needling and has a Diploma in Myofascial Release.
  • Soon, Adam will be a Physiotherapist, he is currently studying the degree at University of Newcastle.
      
Adam’s difference
  • Adam loves working with people. He appreciates the mind / body connection and is always striving to learn more about the holistic nature of healing.
  • Since working at Hunter Allied Care, he has discovered how resilient people living with chronic pain really are and, alongside the rest of the team, is dedicated to helping everyone that comes through the door become themselves again.

Meg Hassan

​Yoga Teacher

About Meg
  • Meg is a qualified Yoga Instructor completing her Diploma of Yoga Teaching with Yogi Wisdom
  • Meg is qualified to teach chair yoga which is a great introduction to yoga for those who have chronic conditions
  • Meg is currently studying to become a Registered Nurse at Newcastle University. 
​Meg’s difference
  • Meg understands the patient journey with chronic pain having worked in the industry for three years.  She combines her love for yoga with her compassionate and gentle nature to help her clients become themselves again.
